The TSA today postponed the implementation of a policy to allow knives, baseball bats, and other currently prohibited items in carry-on baggage on commercial flights. The proposed rule changes, scheduled for April 25, 2013, would alter the TSA’s list of approved items for carry-on. The delay will allow the TSA to evaluate feedback from an advisory committee made up of law enforcement and airline officials, as well as consumers. TSA’s statement on the delay indicated that said the delay, of a undetermined length, is temporary.
The delay gives both proponents of the change a chance to voice support for the policy change. Visit the Action page on this site to contact your congressional representative and tell the world that you can be trusted with a simple pocket tool.
